Ironically, Peters called his article “Liars’ round-up”.
Why did the NRO link to such an article?

This is the letter I’ve tried to send to Peters but couldn’t.
Dear Mr Peters,
You are receiving this as a result of your latest article you’ve named ‘Liars’ round-up’, even though it was you who has proven himself to be a liar.
You’ve started off by falsely claiming that America is not less safe than on 9/10, which is not false, considering that nowadays, North Korea is a nuclear power developing ICBMs to hit the US, and that Iran is well on its way to becoming a nuclear power, too. You’ve furthermore falsely claimed that there hasn’t been a single terrorist attack in America on 9/11, which is also lie. There has been one, although non-fatal – in the British consulate in NYC, in 2005. And earlier this year, a bomb has exploded just nearby Times Square. That’s two terrorist attacks in 3 years. Not a record to be proud of. George Bush is one of the worst US Presidents ever.
You’ve furthermore denied that AQ is stronger than ever, once again, however, facts have proven you to be flat wrong – as you ALWAYS are. AQ has a safe haven in Afghanistan, a failed state, where, despite the presence of 50,000 Western soldiers it can still operate so freely that it can release hateful tapes to the outside world. AQ’s senior leaders, incl. OBL and al-Zawahiri, the people who murdered 3,000 Americans on 9/11 are still at large almost 7 years after 9/11. That’s not a record to be proud of. That’s the worst record of any US administration.
You’ve humiliated yourself further by claiming that Afghanistan is in good shape, which it isn’t, and the Taleban are so strong that they have recently attacked a prison in Kandahar and freed hundreds of terrorists from it.
You’ve embarrassed yourself even further when you claimed that the US-European relationship is good, which it isn’t. Most European countries, incl. Germany and France, are maintaining small contingents in Afghanistan, ones which are far short of what NATO commanders have called for, and most importantly, these troops are constrained by caveats. For example, German soldiers aren’t even allowed to go more than 2 hours away from a medical facility and their pilots are barred from flying at night. Most European countries have deployed small armies of toy soldiers in Afghanistan; these are commanded by cowardice anti-American politicians like Merkel, Sarkozy and Zapatero (all of whom were elected AFTER Bush took office).
In another article, Ralph Peters claimed that AQ is losing the GWOT, which it isn’t, and omitted to mention Saudi Arabia’s payments to thousands of radical imams preaching extremist Wahhabism in the West.
