1) Hunter is not as hawkish as some other people claimed he is. He’s also slightly naive – he said that the US could cooperate with Russia on a missile shield. He also said that the US should have accepted the Russian offer that Russia would host USN ships on the Russian southern coast. But that offer would have:
a) made the US dependent on Russia; and
b) ceded Eastern Europe (incl. Poland) to Russia.
So no, contrary to Mel Morgan’s claim, Hunter would not be ‘a superb SECDEF’.
2) Huckabee said that he wouldn’t laugh if Hillary Clinton was elected President. I wouldn’t laugh if Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama was elected President.
3) Hunter would ‘ask them if they’re interested in a partnership that would protect Western Europeans and us’. The Russians don’t want that. The Russians plan to conquer all these people. And why didn’t he mention Eastern Europe?
