Nonpartisan leaders are campaigning for a strong defense

Posted by zbigniewmazurak on May 22, 2010

Because most Republicans, including most leaders of the GOP, have failed to oppose Obama’s defense cuts and to campaign for a strong defense, seven nonpartisan think-tank directors are now working to spread the message and to help elect candidates who desire a strong defense.

These leaders are: Elaine Donnelly (the director of the CMR); Frank Gaffney (Reagan’s assistant SECDEF, now the director of the CSP); Brian Kennedy (the Claremont Institute); Herbert London (the Hudson Institute); Cliff May (the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy);  Herman Pirchner (the American Foreign Policy Council); and Edwin Meese (Reagan’s Attorney General, now the Chairman of the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies).

These seven conservative figures have drafted and signed what is probably America’s first-ever strong defense pledge/manifesto. It calls not only for a strong military, but also an America indepent from foreign oil, free from irregular enemy combatants, free from the tyrannical Sharia law, and protected American borders.

Here’s their entire manifesto:

“In a world characterized by growing threats to freedom and the U.S. Constitution, America’s exceptional role, and indeed our country’s very existence, is at risk.  We believe such times demand a robust, comprehensive national security posture appropriate to today’s threats, and tomorrow’s.  Toward that end, we espouse and will work to achieve the following:

  • Renewed adherence to the national security philosophy of President Ronald Reagan: “Peace Through Strength.” American security is most reliably assured by having military forces that are fully trained, equipped and ready to deter or defeat the nation’s adversaries.
  • A robust defense posture including: A safe, reliable effective nuclear deterrent, which requires its modernization and testing; the deployment of comprehensive defenses against missile attack; and national protection against unconventional forms of warfare – including biological, electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) and cyber attacks.
  • Preservation of U.S. sovereignty against international treaties, judicial rulings and other measures that would have the effect of supplanting or otherwise diminishing the U.S. Constitution and the representative, accountable form of government it guarantees.
  • A nation free of Shariah, the brutally repressive and anti-Constitutional totalitarian program that governs in Saudi Arabia, Iran and other Islamic states and that terrorists are fighting to impose worldwide.
  • Protection from unlawful enemy combatants.  Enemies who refuse to wear uniforms, use civilians as shields and employ terrorism as weapons are not entitled to U.S. constitutional rights or trials in our civilian courts.  Those captured overseas should be incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay, which should remain open, or in other prisons outside the United States.
  • Energy security, realized by exploiting to the fullest the natural resources and technologies available in this country.  We Americans must reduce our dependence for energy upon – and transfers of national wealth to – enemies of this country.
  • Borders secure against penetration by terrorists, narco-traffickers or others seeking to enter the United States illegally.  Aliens who have violated immigration laws should not be rewarded with the privileges of citizenship.
  • High standards that protect the military culture essential to the All-Volunteer Force.  The Pentagon should implement sound priorities, policies and laws that strengthen recruiting, retention, and readiness.
  • A foreign policy that supports our allies and opposes our adversaries.  It should be clearly preferable to be a friend of the United States, not its enemy.
  • Judicial and educational institutions that uphold the constitutional responsibility of elected officials to make policy for our military and convey to future generations accurate portrayals of American history, including the necessity of defending freedom.
  • We call on elected officials, candidates for office and others who share these principles to join us in advancing them and, thereby, to restore the time-tested practice of promoting international peace through American strength.”

I agree with 100% of this manifesto. No ifs, no buts.

    Please spread this manifesto.

All genuine conservative politicians should sign this pledge.

Liberals are intolerant and do not respect the law

Posted by zbigniewmazurak on May 22, 2010

You may have heard of the Mojave Desert Cross, a cross installed in the Mojave Desert by the VFW organization. The cross was installed on federal land, but the Congress later sold that land to a private owner.

An atheist employee of the National Park Service sued the federal government because this cross – which he wasn’t even required to look at – supposedly offended him. The SCOTUS ruled that this cross is constitutional. Anthony Kennedy, the judge who wrote the opinion of the SCOTUS, wrote that “The goal of avoiding governmental endorsement [of religion] does not require eradication of all religious symbols in the public realm”.

But liberals are intolerant, and they don’t respect the law, so they have stolen the Mojave Desert Cross.

“As of May 10, 2010, the cross was stolen by vandals on the night of May 9-10, 2010.[11][12] National Park Service spokeswoman Linda Slater said a $25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves. The VFW promised that the memorial will be rebuilt.”This was a legal fight that a vandal just made personal to 50 million veterans, military personnel and their families,” National Commander Thomas J. Tradewell said.”
