A few days ago, I wrote a post describing Obama’s plan to gut NASA. The plan assumes that the NASA Constellation program (designed to return American astronauts to the Earth’s moon) will be closed and that the US will rely on Russia to deliver American astronauts to the Outer Space, because NASA’s Space Shuttles will be retired this year. The “Endeavor” Space Shuttle is scheduled to launch tomorrow, but it will be retired later this year. Obama’s plan also assumes that NASA will end its “go-alone” policy and will conduct space missions only together with foreign space agencies like the Russian Roskosmos agency and sack 7000 employees (tech experts) involved with the Constellation program.
But those are the very policies that Obama condemned when he ran for the presidency. Listen to him:
That’s a video recorded when Obama was speaking in Florida (where NASA’s Kennedy Space Center is located and where shuttles usually launch). Obama was vying for Florida’s 27 EC votes, which are crucial for every presidential candidate. He promised to prolong the service lifetime of space shuttles and give NASA American spacecraft so that NASA wouldn’t be forced to rely on Russia, to properly fund space exploration programs, and to present an ambitious space exploration plan.
By contrast, an Obama admin official said earlier this month that “we certainly don’t need to go to the moon”.
Dear Readers: Please send this to every Floridian whom you know, post on Floridian forums and websites, and please send it to FLGOP officials. If you are a Floridian, please don’t vote for Barack Obama on November 6th, 2012.
