Danny Tarkanian, a Nevadan who is running for the US Senate, has devised a plan that will significantly reduce the federal budgetary deficit. This is his plan:
The plan would reduce spending by $1491 billion and raise $83.8 bn of new revenue. There are 2 problems with it, though:
1) He hasn’t said whether these savings and new revenue would be annual or not.
2) Even if they were annual, they would amount to only $1574 bn per year, which is not enough to abolish the federal budgetary deficit ($1600 bn).
Only my plan would balance the budget by FY2011. I am the only guy who has devised a plan to balance the US federal budget by FY2011.
