Paul Light proposes $1 trillion savings

Paul Light has proposed $1 trillion savings to the US federal government, specifically: halving the number of presidential appointees, streamlining the structure of the federal government, consolidating duplicative programs, and not replacing some of the federal workers who are scheduled to retire during the next 5 years.

He also proposes to close “wasteful programs”, but he didn’t state what he meant by that. That’s why a caveat is needed. He should write specifically what wasteful programs he meant.
