Ron Paul calls for massive defense cuts to fund entitlements, betrays the Constitution

During the NH debate, Ron Paul, when asked whether the Medicare program and other entitlement programs are solvent and how to solve the problem, he called for cuts to “foreign aid, foreign militarism, the military-industrial complex, and corporate welfare programs”.

I oppose foreign aid programs, corporate welfare programs, and undeclared wars. But defense cuts are unacceptable. BTW, there is no such thing as “a military-industrial complex” in the US.

Yet, Paul called for MASSIVE defense cuts NOT to balance the federal budget, but to fund unconstitutional federal entitlements, including the Medicare program! So he wants defense spending to be radically reduced and MORE money to be spent on socialist welfare programs!

He decried the degree of dependency on the federal government of many people, then called for a plan to HUGELY INCREASE the degree of dependency on the federal government of many people!

Thus, he has adopted the same policy as Congressman Barney Frank (R-MA)!

His proposal is not just wrong, ridiculous, and treasonous. It’s also UTTERLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL and belies his claims that he’s a defender of the Constitution.

The Constitution contains NO authorization for ANY federal entitlement programs, including the Medicare program. On the other hand, it does authorize, and even REQUIRE, a strong defense (vide Art. IV, Sec. 4 of the Constitution). Its Preamble even says that one of the reasons why the federal government was created and why the Constitution was adopted was “to provide for the common defense”. 9 of the 18 enumerated prerogatives of the Congress listed in Art. I, Sec. 8 of the Constitution pertain to the military or to war.

The Founding Fathers created the federal government to PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE, not to MAINTAIN AND FUND ENTITLEMENT PROGRAMS!

Ron Paul is such a despicable anti-Constitution traitor that he should withdraw from the race immediately.
